Oil on Canvas
I painted this work over several early mornings in late June of 2012, near the base of Courthouse Rock in Sedona. The distant cliffs are seen in blue silhouette. Featured in the foreground are spectacular blooming Yuccas, common in the sandy flats of the Village of Oak Creek before the population and development diminished their beauty. I was happy to have found these defiant survivors.
