Collection of Grand Canyon Association and Grand Canyon National Park
This view is from Yaki Point on the South Rim. Crystalline ice falls over the North Rim during an October sunrise. I painted this as a gift to Grand Canyon National Park in 1994 to celebrate the 75th Anniversary of the creation of the park. I am pleased to know that it has given so many people so much pleasure over the years. Normally National Treasure is on display in Kolb studio, but it’s often included in museum exhibitions around the country that are focused on Grand Canyon. There can be one image that becomes iconic in an artist’s career, and this is mine.
