A cold front hung over Sedona for several days, while waiting for the sun to return, I decided that some color would be nice to brighten my day. I asked Roy Brinton, the designer at Tom’s shop the Flower Peddler to create an arrangement of colorful blossoms in one of my favorite bowls from my Oriental porcelain collection. I set it on ultramarine colored fabric, and I added a small Chinese mud sculpture for character. I loved painting the blossoms against the dragons of blue and white. Ostentatious, perhaps, but I enjoyed attitude and personality and feeling of abundance on this day when I was cold and needed something to fill an emotional moment.
